Good product
"I ordered the mission 30L backpack. Although I returned it because it was a bit bigger than what I was expecting for my needs, it is definitely built very well and super functional. As a well-seasoned outdoorsman and mountaineer I would suggest a couple of things to the company concerning this product. First off the waist belt strap is too small (1in. ), it should be 2 in minimum or bigger, secondly the straps underneath of the back are great for a water bottle but should be longer for use of a small sleeping bag or tent. And lastly for being just a 30L pac it is heavy at 4. 35lbs empty (on my precision scale). *Shave 1. 5 lbs somehow, a little strap modification and this would be perfection. I was in need of a small day pac is why I originally purchased it and would purchase it again if these issues were fixed and I wanted a mid range pac."

I got this backpack after
"I got this backpack after seeing one at REI. I'd never heard of Grayl, but I loved that the pack had lots of pockets and places for attachments and add-ons. After using it for a few weeks, I love it. It's big and spacious, but not so big I can't use it for work. It is really sturdy and well-designed and I love the aesthetics of it. Highly recommend."

Too much $ for what it is
"Dislike the price for such a small bag. If you included a grayl water filter/purifier that would make it more reasonable. Would like to purchase the bag but the price is way too much. Can get other bags for half the price. Would use this for overnight hikes."

A couple of changes and its perfect!
"I came across the pack and a lot of searching to find the options I wanted. I am retiring my Eberlestock X4 High Speed of 12 years mainly because I want something with a little more room. Pros: - Organization. This pack has tons of pockets. Having the laptop pocket on the side was one of my must haves - Build quality. Quality appears good. The bag feels well made - Customer service. They were quick to respond to a question I had. I ordered the bag on Saturday and it was at my door Tuesday afternoon. Not sure if this is because Im just 3 hours south or if their shipping is always that fast Cons: - Hip belt is not removeable. This bag will be used for airline travel and visiting industrial sites so no hip belt needed. Im very temped to cut it off. . . - Padding. I feel like the padding, although adequate, will not breath like the material used in my Eberlestock or my Kelty Falcon packs which use a very porous foam type material that seems to offer very little resistance to air. The padding on this pack seems more like your basic low density foam. The pack is comfortable, but, it is winter time so we will see how it breaths in the summer -Adjustability. I would expect more adjustability for a pack in this price range, not a one size fits all. Overall: While my complaints are minor and not a deal breaker yet, summer time will help me decide if I really like it or not. I think a 300. 00 plus pack should offer more adjustability and the other options mentioned to make this pack great. For close to 30 years I have traveled all over the world and my Eberlestock X4 High Speed has about 2,000,000 of those miles. It has plenty of life left in it, but, my needs have changed and its time to move on. My short list included the Eberlastock Switchblade, Eberlastock Fade Adjust, Mystery Ranch Blitz, Kelty Redwing tactical, Kelty Redwing Traveler and the Veria Islander Savvy. This bag met most of my requirements including what I thought at the time was the removeable hip belt. The Eberlastock and the Kelty Tactical had the best adjustments, but lacked in other areas where the Mission EXP shined. Would I recommend this pack to friends or coworkers? Sure. All in all it is a good pack. Make the changes mentioned above and this pack would have a spot at the top of the list all by itself. @Grayl - If you made those changes, Id be hard pressed not to buy the upgraded pack! This pack will be used every day for work and travel."
