"The bag is incredible. The organizations options are a *chefs kiss*. I have been using hip packs since I was a kid growing up in the 80’s- to date they are my preferred ‘purse’. I was wanting something larger now that I have a toddler in tow and need room for a few extra bars etc. this is most certainly that but it’s really too large for a hip pack. This size is def more of a sling, and in which case is just missing the ‘sling comfort’. I am a woman with large breasts so the hip pack waist strap doesn’t quite jive with the sling fit. Kinda wishing for a 3L option and one day may invest in the smaller hip pack. All said- really impressed with GRAYL and very happy to spread the good word about their packs."

This is a durable product

"This is a durable product and is very water proof. The zippers are heavy duty and are water proofed well. As a standalone hip pack it works great and as described. It should noted noted I tried to use this with a Kelty Back Pack with an external frame to which it is not compatible. It may work with well with a small day back pack. But a large pack with a waste strap and hip padding it will not work."

Looks like a solid build!

"I havent had a chance to use the pack yet, but overall it looks like a really solid build. My only complaint is that the stash pocket (closest to the body) isnt as deep as the main pocket. I had hoped to use this for concealed carry on a Springfield XDS 3. 3, but the pocket isnt quite big enough to fit the pistol. Not a deal breaker for me, as there are still a ton of uses for this pack, but just a heads up to anyone who might be considering something similar. Otherwise, looking forward to getting it outdoors!"

Would back zip pocket be able to carry weapon?
Yes. Many folks purchase our 4L Transport Hip Packs as well as the 4.5L Mission Hip Pack for a concealed carry in the zipper pocket. It's a very capable pocket.
